McCarran Int'l Airport Terminal 3 Bldg, Las Vegas, NV

The McCarran International Airport Terminal 3 project is a 2 million square foot self-contained addition to the seventh busiest airport in the United States. The construction work will begin in January 2009 for the 300' x 2,300', 14 gate airport. T3 will have it's own ticket counters, baggage claim areas, and baggage handling system. The new terminal will have an automated underground transit system to connect it to the D Concourse, which is 950ft away. Perini Building Co. will head this $1.2 billion project with a completion date in 2012.

The structure will consist of a basement, three upper levels and roof-level penthouses containing more than 24,000 sprinkler heads. PGAL, LLC is the architect with Rolf Jensen & Associates, Inc. as the Fire Protection Consultants, Wolverine Fire Protection Co. is the fire protection subcontractor for the project and is designing, coordinating in 3D, fabricating and installing the entire fire protection systems for this facility.
